Frequently Asked Questions

Before my appointment

You will be given the hair preparation instructions before your appointment. Use the recommended shampoo and avoid conditioner the night before or the day of your treatment. This removes buildup like silicone, allowing the treatment to work better. Our products are gentle, so heavy silicones, oils, or butters on your hair can reduce the effectiveness of your treatment.

After care

To ensure long-lasting results and hair health, use sulphate-free shampoo and conditioner after your treatment. You can also use hair oils and heat protectants as long as they do not have non-water-soluble silicones. Avoid shampoos with sulphates and conditioners with heavy silicones like Dimethicone.

We also recommend no swimming for 10 days and no bleach for 2 weeks. You can tie your hair up loosely with a scrunchy or spiral hair tie. We also advise against tying the hair up when wet for the first 2-3 washes.

Are treatments suitable for Blonde hair?

Definitely, however, if your blonde is very dry and damaged, we recommend Nanoplasty or Keraplasty treatments to improve your hair health before doing permanent treatments. Damaged hair straightening results may be that of 90% of the curl is reduced at the first visit. Hair health being dramatically improved will result in 100% straight results at subsequent appointments.

It is recommended to have any straightening treatment two weeks before any bleaching treatment. Straightening treatments have the potential to slightly change blonde hair colour.

Are treatments suitable for Grey hair?

If your hair is 80–100% natural grey or a mix of bleached and grey hair at this level, we generally advise against proceeding with a treatment due to the likelihood of colour change and reduced treatment effectiveness. Grey hair can be more resistant, making it harder to guarantee the strength and longevity of the result.

If your grey has been tinted with a level 7 or below, we can treat the hair however, colour change is still likely, and a fresh colour may be required afterwards.

Do you offer a regrowth service?

We do not provide a regrowth service. For the best results, treating the root to tip at each appointment ensures a consistent finish.

When can I colour my hair?

Brunettes and darker colours may experience some colour change or lightening. For best results, colouring after your straightening treatment is recommended. Colour can be applied after your straightening treatment.

Blondes – For hair health, avoid any bleach for two weeks after your treatment. The treatment can slightly alter the blonde colour. If you prefer to have your bleach treatment before your appointment, a toner can be applied 1-2 weeks after your appointment for a colour correction. We also recommend waiting two weeks before adding any highlights.

Will I still be able to curl my hair?

Clients are still able to curl their hair; your curls will be smooth and frizz-free in appearance.

How long do treatments last?

We expect that our Nanoplasty and Keraplasty treatments will last between 3-6 months, and our permanent straightening treatments can last 6 months. Permanent treatments grow out.

Do the treatments damage my hair?

No, our treatments will improve hair texture and appearance. Our products are 100% formaldehyde-free and will penetrate the hair shaft, locking in moisture.

When can I go swimming after my treatment?

We do not recommend swimming in salt or chlorinated water for 10 days. Clients should wash the salt or chlorine out of their hair to preserve their treatment.

When should I wash my hair?

Washing hair at least 5 to 7 days after your treatment is recommended. If necessary, dry shampoos can be used. If your hair becomes wet in the shower or in the rain. Simply blow-dry or straighten the hair, and any wave will smooth out again.

Within the first 5-7 days, if you are sweating from exercise, dry your scalp or rinse with water rather than washing. Sweat can impact your treatment if not washed out regularly.

Naturally, the scalp will begin producing oil to compensate for any dryness. Therefore, for the first couple of washes, you may experience ‘oilier’ hair. If you do notice a difference, you can simply use a light spray of dry shampoo while allowing oils to regulate.

You may experience a slight odour upon washing your hair, which usually lasts around 3 washes. The smell only lasts while the hair is wet and will disappear once it is dry.

Can I have extensions with my treatment?

For best results, extensions should be applied after your treatment. We can’t determine what products or treatments have been applied to the extensions, and this could impact the extension. Before applying the extensions, it is best to wash at least twice to ensure the straightening product is removed.

Will sleeping affect my hair?

Waking up with waves is normal. The treatment is still ok, simply blow dry or use your straightener to smooth the waves. We recommend going to bed with dry hair. Our clients are provided with a complimentary silk pillowcase.

Do you cut or trim hair?

If necessary, we trim at the end of the treatment to tidy the ends; however, we do not provide haircuts.

What payment methods are accepted?

We accept cash or card, with no additional card fees. Afterpay is not currently accepted at this stage.
